A Helicopter View of Emerging Channels for Spirit Brands in Africa

Emerging markets are dynamic places and although many people living in them have low per capita incomes there are a growing number of people who can afford international spirit brands. This growing demand means that from a spirit brand perspective new sales channels are also emerging. Nowhere is this more evident than on the continent of Africa; a continent comprised of 50 countries (where alcohol sales are permitted), that are in different phases of growth, but all of which are emerging and have emerging channels within them. Due to the size and diversity of Africa my article in the September edition of Global Drinks Intel provides a helicopter view on some of the emerging channels in Africa with the hope that it will stimulate thought and a more detailed consideration of what channels are emerging in all emerging markets around the world.
